As Master of Novices at Peralta de la Sal, the birthplace of St. Joseph Calasanz, Blessed Manuel poured his heart into preparing young candidates for the priesthood and religious life. His gentle spiritual direction and personal example of evangelical poverty inspired all under his care.
During the Spanish Civil War, he remained steadfast in faith despite severe religious persecution. Strengthened by the Holy Eucharist, he embraced martyrdom with serenity alongside Brother David Carlos Marañón, forgiving his persecutors and offering his life for Christ. He was executed near Purroy on 28 July 1936.
He was beatified on 1 October 1995 by Pope St. John Paul II. Blessed Manuel Segura López remains a shining example of faithful priesthood, courageous witness, and complete trust in God's providence.
