Blessed David Carlos Marañón was born in Asarta, Navarre, and entered the Piarist Order as a humble religious brother.

• Humble Service at Peralta de la Sal

Serving as gardener, cook, and caretaker at Peralta de la Sal, he carried out even the simplest duties with extraordinary love. Known for his joyful spirit and generous heart, his desire was always "to do something for God."

• Courageous Martyrdom

During the persecution of 1936, he courageously refused to abandon his religious vocation, even when promised his freedom. Kneeling in prayer, he accepted martyrdom alongside Blessed Manuel Segura López, leaving behind a powerful witness of humility, fidelity, and unwavering faith.
