During the violent persecution of the Spanish Civil War, he encouraged forgiveness and remained peaceful in the face of death. Arrested because of his priesthood, he willingly offered his life for Christ and was martyred together with Brother Florentino Felipe on 25 July 1936. His witness continues to inspire courage, forgiveness, and steadfast faith.
